Dan S.'s story

"My Grandfather was a regular at Nick's when Nick was the owner. My grandfather and father both remained regulars of Nick's when Frank was the owner. Some of my great memories are of my Dad and Grandfather-going to Nick's. My family has known Frank, Herbie, & the Commander for many years. What a great place. I was sad to see Frank sell, but was happy to see what Tyler has done to the place. It is the same but better. I look forward to coming to Nick's for many years to come."

The front of Nick's

Italian-born Domenick "Nick" Carlacio opened Nicks Coney Island in 1935, across the street from our present location. Nick's remained there, until the year 1943, when it moved to the other side of the Avenue. Nick sold the restaurant to Frank Nudo in 1960. The business plan was simple "make a damn good Coney Island.” Over the decades, Nick's has become a local icon & has been the home of sports fans, local celebs, elected officials, as well as sports & movie stars alike. Through the years, loyal customers have loved the cast who served great food & beer at Nick's, on a daily basis: Kenny (the wing commander), Herbie, & the ring leader, Frank Nudo. In 2008, Frank decided to retire & a Nick’s Famous fan, Tyler Rogoway, bought the restaurant with a plan to totally renovate the space, in order to keep the legend alive & to make sure future generations will have a chance to experience this one of a kind historic eatery & watering hole.
